Magazine Mountain State Park is located off of Route 309. When you enter the park, you will be turning onto FOrest Road 1606, which you follow 1 3/4 miles to the parking area adjacent to the Cameron Bluff Campground. There is a very small parking area here and a large sign indicating the state of the Signal Hill Trail.
Trip Description:
I was VERY surprised at how beautiful Arkansas was in autumn...the foliage rivals that of New England. I even passed a herd of Elk not too far from the park. The trail hike is short, just 1 mile roundtrip. There is a signpost and USGS marker at the summit, but there are no views. There are, however, spectacular views on the drive up to the park.
